Scriptures to pray for a husband
If you are a single Christian woman that desires to get married, then praying for your future husband is probably something you have done before.
I know I have.
Maybe you did it intentionally by taking part in a “praying for your future husband challenge”.
Or maybe you did it unintentionally as an outcry to God during your waiting season.
Both reasons are very valid and very common. And most importantly it’s a good thing.
I know I have been dreaming about what “The One” will look like for years.
And I have been praying to God to make me a good wife as well.
If these are honest desires of your heart, then they deserve some prayer time.
And the truth is, most of us think of what our future husbands will look like, be like, and feel like daily.
While you don’t want to idolize marriage and try your best to not get consumed with it, I also understand how prevalent it is.
I actually include praying for my future spouse in my manifestation practice.
Because I understand that the art of speaking things into existence is a very powerful practice that is even backed in the Bible:
The tongue has the power of life and […], and those who love it will eat its fruit. – Proverbs 18:21
That’s why I believe that what you pray over your future husband today, can materialize tomorrow!
But like any other prayer, the most powerful prayers are the ones that include scripture.
So, in this blog post, I share different scriptures to pray for your future husband.
Is it okay to pray for your future husband?
As mentioned before, praying for your future husband is a good thing.
Just as you pray for family members, health, and other things that are important to you.
As a single woman who is looking for a godly man, you can use prayer to connect with God regarding your future marriage.
Above all else he wants you to have an intimate relationship with Him.
So share your heart’s desire for a Christian husband with him.
How do I pray for a future husband?
The best way to pray for your future husband is by using scripture.
You can search for bible verses about husbands or bible verses about marriage.
Any scripture references that help you trust God’s plan for your love life.
Whenever I pray for my future husband I like to keep it more general.
I focus on godly characteristics and personality traits, rather than a specific person.
What do you want your husband’s heart to be like?
What do you want your future marriage to be like?
To help you, I chose 5 of my favorite scriptures to pray for a husband that will turn you into a prayer warrior!
Scriptures to pray for your future husband
1. Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
There is no way I can pray for my future husband without including this Bible verse.
Just as much as you want your life to be completely aligned with God’s perfect will, you want your future husband’s life to be as well.
Pray that he is seeking God and putting Him first.
Pray that he is aligned with Christ and looking to God’s word for guidance.
Because no matter how noble his ambitions are, if he is not following Christ it will lead to a lot of pain and frustration in his life and eventually in yours.
2. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give your hope and a future.”
I speak from experience when I say that life knocks you down at times. You have been there. I have been there. We have all been there.
We know how easy it is to doubt God when it feels like nothing is working.
So pray that your future husband continues to trust God, even when things don’t seem to add up.
Pray that he remembers God’s faithfulness and remains strong in his faith and devotion.
3. 1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind.
And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure.
The desire to be intimate is probably one of the biggest reasons why so many men have a hard time committing nowadays.
Online dating and the availability of so many women make it less desirable to get into a serious relationship.
As a single Christan woman, you and I both have experienced how indecisive men can be at times
That’s why you want to pray for your husband to resist temptation.
And pray for your future husband to make the right decisions during his single season and honor God with his body and mind.
4. Philippians 4:6-7
There is no person in this world, that doesn’t have anxious thoughts at times. Myself included.
Sometimes the fear of the unknown sends us down a roller coaster of emotions and worries.
This is why you want to include a short prayer for your future husband’s peace and protection.
Pray that he is able to keep a sound mind in the midst of challenges.
Use the above bible verse to cover him whenever he may not have the strength to pray to his heavenly father himself.
5. Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Last but certainly not least on the list of scriptures to pray for a future husband is Galatians 6:9.
This verse is a reminder that if we strive to please God, we will reap joy.
Pray that your future husband remains steadfast and continues to do good, even when he cannot see the results.
So that he will see God’s blessings in his life in due time.
Pray that your husband sees God’s love for him in a powerful way in his life.
What the Bible says about finding a husband?
Interestingly enough the Bible never speaks about finding a husband specifically.
While Proverbs 18:22 speaks about finding a wife, many people have translated it to refer to both men and women.
So finding a husband, like finding a wife, is a good thing.
However, while you look and search and pray for your future husband, don’t lose sight of God. Remember that he will provide everything in perfect timing, so you don’t need to obsess over finding a future husband.
Remember to enjoy your singleness to the fullest and focus on your spiritual life.
And then it is the will of God for you to marry, it will happen.
Can God reveal your future husband?
Now that you have a few scriptures to pray for a husband, I’m sure you want to know if God has someone for you.
I truly believe that God speaks to us in our quiet time.
Sometimes through scripture, visions, or even sounds.
However, when it comes to revealing your future husband it may be a feeling or knowing.
I still believe that the number one way God reveals your husband is by giving you peace that surpasses your own understanding.
That’s why if you want to manifest love into your life, the best thing you can do is get crystal clear on what you want.
Script and visualize your godly husband regularly, so that when God leads you to your spouse, you will recognize him immediately.
