Anxiety is one of these emotions that are triggered whenever I feel restless. And with loneliness a lot of times our thoughts run wild and lead us down a dark hole of what if’s.
So, if your feeling of loneliness is mostly triggered by the fact that you are single and are getting worried that this state might last longer than you hoped, then I challenge you to truly surrender your cares to God. He knows and cares for you and will give you comfort.
Loneliness in the Bible
4. Psalm 139:7-10
Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
A lot of times when I feel lonely, I also feel alone. Meaning that it feels like suddenly there is no one around to support, encourage or love me.
But the Bible is very clear that there is nowhere you can go that God is not present and with you. Rest assured that even when you feel sad and lonely God is right by your side and willing to guide you out of this season if you desire.
5. Joshua 1:5-6
No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
We all know the story of Moses. He wandered through the wilderness and took on the most lonely job there is – shepherd.
And even though it took years of solitude for Moses to grown into the man that would eventually lead Israel out of Egypt, God was always with him. Remember that the night is the darkest, right before sunset.
God is always there, even when you can’t see him.
